2001 Lotus Elise S2 - Ardent Red - car poster print
The Series 2 Elise was launched in October 2000 and based on a redesigned Series 1 chassis to meet new crash regulations, but using the same K-series engine with a brand new Lotus-developed ECU. The design of the body paid homage to the earlier Lotus M250 concept. The car received numerous upgrades throughout its production, most significantly receiving a new Toyota engine in place of the old K-Series Rover unit mid-way through its lifecycle.
